We
are pleased to introduce you to a unique way to explore the wildlife and
history of Southern England - via the peaceful and beautiful canals, rivers
and estuaries.Our beautiful wide
beam barge, Gallinago, was purpose built to enable us to take
you on small rivers and broad canals but is also seaworthy enough for us to
cruise the exciting Thames and Severn Estuaries. Which ever waterway you
choose there will be opportunities for walking and helping with all
activities aboard, from learning to steering and ‘throw lines’ to working
the locks.
Throughout our cruising season we include a
wide variety of areas of outstanding natural beauty.
On the Upper Thames, we meander through
water meadows with Otters, Snipe and Red Kite, to try and spot, plus
picturesque ancient villages and Manor houses to explore.
For those of you with good ‘sea legs’ we
invite you to join us on trip including an estuary section with natural and
man made wonders – Clifton Suspension bridge and the two Severn Crossings,
plus Oystercatchers and a variety of estuary and mud flat birds.
We provide accommodation aboard for just
four guests per seven night cruise in twin or double cabins, with all the
comforts of home, including fine home cooking.
We invite you now to click on the link
below which will take you to our main web site, so you can read all about
our Barge Holidays and or request our brochure.
We look forward to hearing from you soon
and to welcoming you aboard Gallinago during 2008. |
